Hikrobot: What It Makes (AMRs, Robotic Forklifts, Machine Vision), Its Hikvision Ties and How to Buy Outside China

Hikrobot (Hangzhou Hikrobot Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese maker of warehouse and factory mobile robots and industrial machine-vision products, founded in 2016 and consolidated in the accounts of camera maker Hikvision. It sells four AMR families: latent-lifting robots that drive under shelves and carts (LMR), robotic forklifts (FMR), conveyor, tractor and heavy-duty robots (CMR) and tote-handling robots (CTU), run by its RCS-2000 control software. On the vision side it makes industrial cameras, smart cameras, code readers and the VisionMaster software. Hikrobot says it serves 70+ countries and regions and built its 200,000th mobile robot in July 2026. Prices are quote-only for robots; buyers in the US should get legal advice on federal restrictions that name Hikvision and its subsidiaries.

Hikrobot’s English site describes the families but publishes model spec tables only in downloadable catalogs; the two example models above come from Hikrobot-branded catalogs on DirectIndustry. The MR-Q3-600DI catalog claims CE marking and ISO 3691-4:2020 and rates the battery for 1,500 cycles. Trade press puts the full range at roughly 30 kg to 3,000 kg (Warehouse News). Ask for the current datasheet of the exact model you are quoted, since speeds and runtimes vary by version.

RCS-2000, iWMS and VDA 5050

Hikrobot’s mobile robot pages name three software products: RCS-2000 for robot scheduling and traffic, iWMS-1000 for warehouse management, and PlantMirror for simulation. For mixed-brand fleets, partner Wiferion wrote in April 2025 that Hikrobot already supports VDA 5050, the German interface standard between vehicles and a master controller. Hikrobot’s own pages are silent on the version, so ask which VDA 5050 version and which actions (lift, charge, pick) are covered.

Hikrobot machine vision products

Machine vision is the older half of the business; Hikrobot dates its vision team to 2014 and reports more than 10 million vision products shipped. The VisionMaster algorithm platform is the software layer. Hikrobot’s 2025 catalogs list area-scan cameras (CS, CU, CT and CH series), CL line-scan cameras, board-level and infrared cameras, frame grabbers and lenses, SC-series smart cameras, ID-series fixed code readers and IDH handheld readers. Cameras are the one product line with visible reseller prices: LumaSpec Vision listed the 1.6 MP MV-CS016-10UC V5 at US$409 when checked on October 24, 2026, with a note that it does not ship to the United States.

How big Hikrobot is: revenue and IPO status

Hikvision announced a plan to spin Hikrobot off onto Shenzhen’s ChiNext board in December 2021, and the exchange accepted the application in March 2023. On September 30, 2026 the review was suspended for the seventh time because the financial data in the filing had expired, Phoenix Finance reported. The same report, citing the prospectus and Hikvision’s results, gives revenue of RMB 3.94 billion (2022), 4.96 billion (2023), 5.93 billion (2024) and 6.45 billion (2025), with RMB 4.03 billion in the first half of 2026, up 28%.

Hikvision, the FCC Covered List and the Entity List: what US buyers should check

Three US government lists name Hikvision. None names Hikrobot, but two of them say they extend to subsidiaries and affiliates:

  • FCC Covered List: video surveillance and telecommunications equipment produced by Hikvision, to the extent it is used for public safety, government-facility security, critical-infrastructure surveillance and other national-security purposes (added March 12, 2021). A list-wide note says entries include subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • FAR 52.204-25: prohibits federal contractors from providing or using covered Hikvision video surveillance and telecommunications equipment, including that of any subsidiary or affiliate.
  • Commerce Department Entity List: Hikvision was added effective October 9, 2019, at two addresses, with no subsidiaries listed by name.

Whether an AMR or an industrial camera counts as covered “video surveillance or telecommunications equipment” is a legal question these sources leave open. Federal contractors, and companies whose customers include them, should get a written legal opinion before buying.

How to buy Hikrobot robots outside China

The official route is the contact form on hikrobotics.com, which reaches the Hangzhou headquarters. Hikrobot reports 10 overseas branches in 2026 without naming them; in Europe, Hikrobot Europe B.V. is registered in Wuppertal, Germany (commercial register via North Data). Projects are usually sold as a system of robots, RCS-2000 and integration, so compare Hikrobot quotes with other Chinese suppliers such as Geekplus and Hai Robotics on the same scope.

Published projects show the scale: a FAW-Volkswagen plant in Foshan running 47 latent-lifting robots with RCS and iWMS (ISR, February 2026), and UK fashion retailer Superdry with 46 robots at its Burton-upon-Trent distribution centre (Warehouse News, 2023).

When you request a quote, ask for:

  • Exact model, version and the datasheet behind the quoted payload, speed and runtime
  • Navigation method per area (QR codes on the floor, laser SLAM or visual SLAM) and who installs markers
  • RCS-2000 licensing, WMS integration and VDA 5050 scope
  • Certification documents for your market (CE, ISO 3691-4, UL or ANSI/RIA R15.08 in North America)
  • Local service: which company holds spare parts and responds on site in your country

For other suppliers, see our AMR companies comparison; AMR vs AGV explains the navigation differences.
