As of October 19, 2026, you can preorder 1X NEO, a home humanoid robot, on the 1X order page for $20,000 or $499 a month. Either way you pay a $200 deposit now, and 1X says the deposit is fully refundable until your robot is ready for delivery. 1X promises US deliveries in 2026, starting with people who buy outright, followed by subscribers. It does not give a delivery date for individual orders, and international deliveries come later.
- Buy (Early Access): $20,000. Includes a 3-year warranty, premium support and priority delivery.
- Subscribe (Standard): $499 a month, with a starter task package and standard delivery. When the subscription ends you can extend it or return the robot.
- Deposit: $200, refundable until delivery.
- Where: US only for now.
What you get for $20,000 or $499 a month
The NEO product page lists these specs:
- Size: 5 ft 6 in tall, 66 lb
- Strength: lifts 154 lb, carries 55 lb, 18 lb per arm
- Hands: 22 degrees of freedom each; hands rated IP68, body IP44 (splash-proof)
- Battery: 842 Wh, about 4 hours per charge. It plugs itself into a charger on a standard home outlet.
- Noise: 22 dB
- Connection: built-in 5G, with home Wi-Fi recommended
1X says buyers don’t need an extra subscription, and it expects electricity to cost under $1 a day. Maintenance by the 1X team is “recommended,” and the product page doesn’t price it separately.
Does NEO do chores on its own?
Partly. 1X says NEO works autonomously by default, but for a chore it doesn’t know yet, you can book a “1X Expert” to guide it remotely. That person is a 1X employee in the US who guides the robot remotely while it learns the task. According to the NEO FAQ:
- You schedule an Expert session in the app or by voice.
- You accept the Expert into your robot; they can’t connect at any time on their own.
- NEO’s ear rings change color while an Expert is operating it.
- The session data helps train NEO’s base model.
That makes NEO different from a robot vacuum: some of what you see it do may be a remote human, at least at first. If you want to judge demo videos with that in mind, see our guide on how to spot teleoperation in robot demos.
1X also lists limits in its FAQ. Cooking is restricted at launch. The body isn’t waterproof, so it is meant for indoor use and firm ground around your home. 1X says NEO works without sharing data for model training and that you can opt out, though in autonomous mode some sensor data goes to its servers to complete a request and is not stored.
When will NEO actually ship?
1X has not given a date beyond “2026.” In an April 30, 2026 factory update, it said its 58,000 sq ft plant in Hayward, California, plus a second site in San Carlos, can make up to 10,000 NEOs a year, and it repeated that the first robots would ship in 2026, with some customers waiting longer. A May 2026 report from The Next Web said robots from the plant were then going to internal testing and home trials rather than customers, and that first-year capacity had sold out within five days of preorders opening in October 2025.
We could not find a 1X announcement of first customer deliveries as of October 19, 2026. Because the first year’s capacity sold out in 2025, an order placed now is likely to ship after those, and subscribers come after buyers.
How to preorder
