How Much Does an AMR Cost in 2026? Robot Price, Fleet Software, Integration and Total Cost

An industrial autonomous mobile robot (AMR) in the 250 kg class costs roughly €44,000 for the robot alone: EU distributor Elmark lists the MiR250 base at €44,284 before VAT. The robot price is only the first layer. The same price list charges €6,075 for a docking charger and €14,230–€20,700 for MiR Fleet software, and integration, training and service come on top. A UK university’s 2024 purchase of one MiR250 package with charging, software, training, delivery and maintenance came to £110,369 before VAT. Light-duty carts from Chinese makers start near US$20,000, and leases start around €575 a month.

For a vendor that only rents, see how Locus Robotics pricing works: a per-robot annual subscription plus a setup fee per site.

Distributor list prices are starting points before discounts. Each row is a separate purchase, so a quote that shows only the robot price leaves most of the bill unpriced.

A worked example: three MiR250 robots at list price

Using Elmark’s net list prices, three MiR250 base robots (€132,852), three MiR Charge 48V docks (€18,225) and one MiR Fleet license (€14,230) add up to €165,307 before VAT, or about €55,100 per robot. That figure still excludes top modules, site mapping, WMS integration, the site risk assessment, training and service. The single-robot UK contract, which bundled those services, shows how far a delivered package can sit above hardware list price. Your own ratio depends on how much of the integration your team does.

Integration, mapping and safety: the costs list prices leave out

Integration covers mapping the site, setting routes and zones, connecting the fleet manager to a warehouse management system (WMS) or MES, installing doors or elevator interfaces, and the risk assessment required by ISO 3691-4 and, in North America, ANSI/RIA R15.08 (see our AMR safety standards guide). Published figures vary widely: RobotShop Canada sells a basic Pudu T300 installation for $2,000, while Locus Robotics charged a setup fee of up to $100,000 depending on facility size, according to FreightWaves. Ask the integrator to price each of these as a line item.

Leasing and RaaS: what monthly AMR pricing includes

MiR’s own finance page quotes €575 ($711) a month on a 48-month financial lease, subject to credit approval, with distributor leases of two to seven years. The page also advertises €7.99 an hour based on 160 hours a month, which does not match €575 ÷ 160 (about €3.59), so confirm the model and what the monthly rate covers. US dealer RobotLAB offers the Pudu T300 at $589 a month. Locus Robotics publishes no rate; its RaaS page says the subscription bundles hardware, software updates, maintenance and support, and lets the fleet grow or shrink with volume. Our RaaS pricing guide compares subscription terms across vendors.

AMR prices in India and from smaller suppliers

Indian suppliers list complete AMRs on IndiaMART at lower prices, before taxes: Goat Robotics’ GT DB 250 at ₹6,60,000 and GTX 500 at ₹14,50,000 (IndiaMART category page), and a 400 kg towing AMR from Umarobotics at ₹16,00,000 (listing), all checked October 24, 2026. Listing prices are seller asking prices; confirm what navigation, safety certification and software each includes. Research and light platforms cost less again, for example the 60 kg Slamtec Hermes at £5,447.65 including tax. Public tenders give another reference: a Lithuanian university bought two Sherpa AMRs for €57,100 before VAT in 2023.

Payback: how buyers judge AMR cost

In an Interact Analysis survey reported in 2024, 80% of mobile-robot buyers expected a return within three years, most in 18 to 36 months, and high price or unclear return was the main barrier to buying. The payback math turns on hours: a robot working two or three shifts spreads the same purchase and license cost over more moves. Compare suppliers on cost per delivered move at your volume.

To compare quotes on the same basis, ask every supplier to state:

  • Robot price, top module, battery and charger as separate lines
  • Fleet software: one-time or annual, and how many robots the license covers
  • Integration scope: mapping, WMS/MES interface, doors and elevators, and who owns each
  • Risk assessment and certification documents for your site
  • Training, warranty length, service contract price and on-site response time
  • For leases or RaaS: term, hours or shifts assumed, what maintenance is included, and end-of-term options
