OTTO by Rockwell Automation sells five autonomous mobile robots (AMRs): the OTTO 100 (150 kg), OTTO 600 (600 kg), OTTO 1200 (1,200 kg), OTTO 1500 (about 1,900 kg on the current version) and the OTTO Lifter, an autonomous forklift rated for 1,200 kg. The OTTO lineup page lists these five, and every one is sold by quote through OTTO, a Rockwell reseller or an integrator. OTTO publishes no list prices. Two things trip up buyers comparing spec sheets: the “1500” name no longer matches the payload, and launch articles quote faster speeds than the current datasheets.
OTTO AMR models compared: payload, speed and size
Payloads include the top module or attachment. Where OTTO’s own sources disagree, the table uses the newest datasheet and the note below it gives the other figure.
| Model | Rated payload | Max speed | Size (L×W×H) | Robot mass | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OTTO 100 | 150 kg (331 lb) | 2.0 m/s | 740×550×308 mm | 107 kg | OTTO 100 page, 2022 datasheet |
| OTTO 600 | 600 kg (1,320 lb) | 1.4 m/s | 1,050×700×320 mm | 250 kg | OTTO 600 page, datasheet |
| OTTO 1200 | 1,200 kg (2,640 lb) | 1.4 m/s | 1,350×910×320 mm | 370 kg | OTTO 1200 datasheet, March 2026 |
| OTTO 1500 | 1,900 kg (4,190 lb) on a load plate; 1,500 kg on a lift or conveyor | 2.0 m/s | 1,837×1,283×351 mm | 627 kg | OTTO 1500 page, v2 datasheet |
| OTTO Lifter | 1,200 kg (2,640 lb) | Not published by OTTO | 2,841×1,201 mm (L×W) | Not published | OTTO Lifter page, spec sheet |
The 2023 launch coverage gave higher numbers: 2 m/s and IP54 for the OTTO 600 and 1.5 m/s and IP54 for the OTTO 1200. The current datasheets list 1.4 m/s and IP20 for both. Put the datasheet revision you were quoted on the purchase order.
Why the OTTO 1500 carries 1,900 kg
The first OTTO 1500 was rated at 1,500 kg, which is where the name came from. The current version keeps the name and is rated at 4,200 lb on OTTO’s product page, which is about 1,900 kg. The v2 datasheet splits that figure by how the load sits: 1,900 kg on the plain load plate, 1,500 kg when the robot carries a hydraulic lift or conveyor top. If a dealer page or an older brochure says “1,500 kg”, check which generation it describes.
Battery, charging and operating limits
| Model | Battery | Runtime | Charge time (10–90%) | Ingress rating | Operating temperature |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OTTO 100 | 26.4 V, 40 Ah; 3,000 cycles | 6 h | 60 min (2022 datasheet) | IP20 | 20–40 °C |
| OTTO 600 | 48 V, 21 Ah; 6,000 cycles | Not published | 30 min | IP20 | 5–40 °C |
| OTTO 1200 | 48 V, 21 Ah; 6,000 cycles | Not published | 30 min | IP20 | 5–40 °C |
| OTTO 1500 | 52.8 V, 80 Ah; 3,000 cycles | 10 h | 60 min | IP20 | Not published on the page |
| OTTO Lifter | Lead-acid 24 V 375 Ah, or lithium 25.6 V | Not published | About 6 h (lead-acid) or about 1 h (lithium) | Not published | Not published |
The OTTO 600 and 1200 trade runtime for fast top-ups: a 30-minute charge fits between jobs, and Fleet Manager sends robots to chargers when they are idle. The Lifter’s maximum slope is 1°, so ramps to a dock need checking before it is planned into a route.
What each OTTO robot is for
- OTTO 100: totes, bins and small carts between workcells. It has a 62 mm integrated lift and takes a staging cart or a Jtec powered roller conveyor.
- OTTO 600: carts and racks in assembly. OTTO’s page lists the Nord Lift 80, Nord Cart and Nord Cart With Handle attachments.
- OTTO 1200: heavier carts and pallets on custom tops. The March 2026 datasheet lists custom attachments only.
- OTTO 1500: pallets and heavy loads, with 40-inch and 48-inch conveyor tops (Nord Pallet Mover 1000/1200), the Nord Lift 60 or a Jtec scissor lift.
- OTTO Lifter: floor-to-floor and floor-to-conveyor pallet moves. OTTO lists Grade A wood pallets from CHEP, PECO and other pools, block and GMA pallets, and ORBIS HDMC 4845 BulkPak containers. It uses 3 lidars, 5 3D cameras, 7 payload sensors and fork impact sensors. OTTO’s page gives no lift height; the dealer Wajax lists 1 m.
OTTO also built a 750 kg tugger, the OTTO 750. It still appears in A3’s product directory but is absent from OTTO’s current lineup page, so ask a reseller whether it can still be ordered. For cart trains, our autonomous tugger comparison lists towing ratings from other makers.
Which safety standards OTTO lists for each model
| Model | ISO 3691-4 | ANSI/A3 R15.08-1 | ANSI/ITSDF B56.5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| OTTO 100 | Listed | Listed | Listed |
| OTTO 600 | Not listed on the page | Listed | Not listed on the page |
| OTTO 1200 | Not listed on the datasheet | Not listed on the datasheet | Not listed on the datasheet |
| OTTO 1500 | Listed | Listed | Listed |
| OTTO Lifter | Not listed on the page | Not listed on the page | Listed |
All five also list ISO 12100/13849-1 and EN 1175-1/60204-1. “Not listed” means the page or datasheet does not name that standard; ask for the declaration of conformity that applies to your region. Our AMR safety standards guide explains where ISO 3691-4, R15.08 and B56.5 each apply.
Fleet Manager, VDA 5050 and Rockwell software
OTTO Fleet Manager assigns jobs, sends robots to charge between jobs, manages traffic at intersections and connects to MES, ERP and WMS through open APIs and to PLCs over OPC UA. OTTO states that all its AMRs can take orders from third-party controllers using VDA 5050; that support arrived with software release 2.28 in March 2023. At Automate 2026 Rockwell launched FactoryTalk Orchestration, which standardizes how FactoryTalk software sends work to OTTO robots. One Rockwell case study linked FactoryTalk ProductionCentre MES to Fleet Manager through REST APIs.
Who sells OTTO robots and what they cost
Rockwell completed its purchase of Clearpath Robotics and its OTTO Motors division on October 2, 2023. Since October 2025 the OTTO 600 and 1200 are also assembled at Rockwell’s Milwaukee headquarters, alongside production in Ontario. You can buy through OTTO’s partner channel: Rockwell-authorized OTTO resellers, integrators such as Altech (Japan), Applied Robotics (Australia), CR Automation (New Zealand), Deshazo and KPI Solutions (US), and North American dealers.
OTTO lists no robot prices, lease rates or robots-as-a-service plans; quotes come from sales or a partner, and OTTO offers an ROI calculator and the OTTO Care service plan. For the cost layers a quote should separate (robot, top module, chargers, fleet software, integration), see our AMR cost breakdown. Rockwell’s other robot lines are covered in what robots Rockwell Automation sells.
