Rockwell Automation, the Milwaukee maker of Allen-Bradley PLCs and drives, doesn’t build its own robot arms. Its robotics business has four parts: OTTO autonomous mobile robots (150 to 1,900 kg), Clearpath research robots such as Husky and Jackal, both from its 2023 acquisition of Clearpath Robotics; independent cart systems (iTRAK and MagneMotion) that move products on magnetic tracks; and Unified Robot Control, which runs partner robot arms from Comau and others straight from a Logix controller. Rockwell reported $8.34 billion in sales for its fiscal year 2025.
OTTO autonomous mobile robots
OTTO came with Rockwell’s acquisition of Clearpath Robotics, completed October 2, 2023. The range, per OTTO’s site:
- OTTO 100: 150 kg, for carts and small loads.
- OTTO 600: 600 kg.
- OTTO 1200: 1,200 kg.
- OTTO 1500: listed at 1,900 kg, for heavy loads and pallets.
- OTTO Lifter: an autonomous forklift for 1,200 kg pallets.
On October 30, 2025, the first OTTO 600 and 1200 robots came off a new 25,000 sq ft production line at Rockwell’s Milwaukee headquarters, per Rockwell’s announcement; Clearpath and OTTO production also continues in Ontario. For how OTTO compares with MiR, Seegrid and others, see our AMR companies comparison and autonomous forklift comparison.
Clearpath research robots
Clearpath still sells its research platforms under the Rockwell name: Husky, Jackal, Warthog, Ridgeback, Dingo and Husky AMP. They’re used in universities and corporate labs for outdoor and indoor robotics research; our Clearpath guide has the specs and buying process.
Independent cart technology: iTRAK and MagneMotion
These aren’t robots in the usual sense but motion systems: individually controlled movers ride on magnetic tracks to carry products between stations at high speed, replacing chains and conveyors on packaging and assembly lines. Rockwell’s independent cart page lists iTRAK intelligent track systems and the MagneMotion line (MagneMover LITE and QuickStick). They often work alongside robot arms that pick from or load the movers.
Unified Robot Control: robot arms run from Logix
Rockwell’s Unified Robot Control lets a Logix controller and Kinetix drives run a robot arm directly, programmed in Studio 5000, with no separate robot controller. The official partners are Comau (since a 2021 partnership), autonox Robotics for delta and DuoPod robots, and atomrobot in Asia-Pacific. The appeal is one control platform and one programming tool for the whole machine; the trade-off is that you’re choosing from a smaller set of arms than if you used FANUC, ABB or KUKA with their own controllers. If your plant already standardizes on Allen-Bradley, ask your integrator which approach fits.
Software and NVIDIA
Rockwell’s Emulate3D simulates automated systems before they’re built. In 2024 Rockwell announced OTTO robots would use NVIDIA Isaac and that Emulate3D would connect to Omniverse, and in March 2025 it showed Emulate3D Factory Test built on Omniverse and OpenUSD at NVIDIA GTC. Our NVIDIA physical AI guide explains those tools.
Rockwell Automation in numbers
Per its fiscal 2025 results (year to September 30, 2025), Rockwell had sales of $8,342 million: Intelligent Devices $3,756 million (which includes motion and robotics), Software & Control $2,383 million and Lifecycle Services $2,203 million. In its third-quarter fiscal 2026 results (August 4, 2026) it raised its full-year sales guidance to about $9.0 billion. Rockwell doesn’t report robot revenue separately; fiscal 2026 results are due in early November.
Deploying OTTO in your plant
Before a pilot, agree on test routes that include docks, doors and areas the robots haven’t mapped, and write down what success rate counts as acceptance. If OTTO will share aisles with other brands, ask about VDA 5050 support (our VDA 5050 guide); supporting the standard doesn’t by itself make two fleets work together. If you’d rather rent than buy, see our RaaS pricing guide.
For payload, speed, battery and safety standards of each OTTO robot, see our OTTO AMR models comparison.
