Cobot Companies Compared in 2026: Universal Robots, FANUC CRX, ABB, KUKA, Doosan, Techman and More by Payload and Reach

Almost every major cobot maker now covers roughly 3 to 30 kg of payload, so payload range alone won’t pick a brand. The differences that matter are at the edges: FANUC goes heaviest (50 kg with the CR-35iB), Doosan reaches farthest (2,030 mm on the P3020), ABB’s PoWa arms run fastest (up to 7.0 m/s), Techman builds a camera into the arm, and Universal Robots has the largest accessory catalog. None of these makers publishes prices.

The big industrial makers’ cobots

  • FANUC CRX: 3 to 30 kg, with reach up to 1,756 mm on the CRX-30iA, plus the 50 kg CR-35iB for heavier collaborative handling, per FANUC’s cobot page. Details, including published CRX prices, in our FANUC CRX guide.
  • ABB GoFa and PoWa: GoFa covers 5 to 12 kg with reach up to 1.62 m at up to 2.2 m/s. The newer PoWa line is much faster: the CRB 1920 models carry 16 to 30 kg at up to 7.0 m/s, and the CRB 1910 PoWa 10 and 13 run up to 5.8 m/s. Note that PoWa model numbers are classes: the PoWa 13 carries up to 14 kg. Our GoFa vs PoWa comparison covers which to pick. The dual-arm YuMi handles 0.5 kg per arm for small-part assembly.
  • KUKA LBR: the LBR iisy runs from 3 kg (760 mm) to 15 kg (930 mm), and the seven-axis LBR iiwa comes in 7 and 14 kg versions with torque sensing in every joint, which is why it shows up in research labs and sensitive assembly; see our LBR iisy vs iiwa comparison.
  • Yaskawa HC: 10, 20 and 30 kg arms on the same YRC1000 controller family as Yaskawa’s industrial robots; see our Yaskawa lineup guide.

If your plant already runs one of these makers’ industrial arms, its cobot keeps one programming language, one pendant style and one parts supplier. That usually outweighs small spec differences; our comparison of the big four covers their controllers.

Cobot specialists

  • Universal Robots: the largest cobot-only maker, with its Gen 7 g-Series launched in September 2026. Its strength is the UR+ catalog of grippers, sensors and software that install without custom wiring. Full lineup in our Universal Robots guide.
  • Doosan Robotics (South Korea): five series from the 5 kg A0509 and E0509 to the 25 kg H2515 and the 30 kg P3020, a palletizing arm with 2,030 mm reach. Doosan said in October 2026 that new products will come in 2027. Every model is listed in our Doosan Robotics lineup guide.
  • Techman Robot (Taiwan): the TM S series covers 5 to 30 kg, with reach up to 1,902 mm on the TM25S, per its catalog. Techman’s arms carry a built-in 5-megapixel auto-focus camera at the wrist, so simple vision tasks need no separate camera. More in our Techman Robot guide.
  • Chinese cobot makers: Dobot’s CRA series runs from 3 to 30 kg plus the light Nova arms, Elite Robots’ CS series from 3 to 30 kg, and JAKA from 1 to 18 kg. They’re common in Asia and increasingly sold elsewhere through distributors; ask about local service before buying. Our Dobot lineup and price guide lists every Dobot model with reseller prices.

Which cobot fits which job

  1. Machine tending and light assembly (under 10 kg): nearly every brand fits. Choose by your integrator’s support and accessory availability.
  2. Palletizing cases at the end of a line: you need 20 to 30 kg and long reach. Look at the Doosan P3020, UR20, FANUC CRX-30iA, Yaskawa HC30PL and Techman TM25S; our cobot palletizer comparison covers stack height, speed and cell cost.
  3. Fast pick-and-place: ABB’s PoWa is built for speed, but fast collaborative operation still depends on your risk assessment; many cells run cobots fast only when no one is nearby.
  4. Inspection or vision-guided picking: Techman’s built-in camera saves a component; any brand works with an add-on camera.
  5. Heavy collaborative handling (over 30 kg): FANUC’s CR-35iB is the main option.

When you request quotes, size the gripper and part against each arm’s load diagram, and make sure every bid includes the same tooling, safety work and programming. Our checklist of what a cobot quote should include lists the lines to compare, our arm selection guide explains payload and reach, and if your tool needs air, vacuum and data through a rotating wrist, see routing utilities through the wrist.
