ProMat registration is free and covers the exhibits, keynotes and show-floor educational sessions. For the trip between downtown Chicago and McCormick Place, the organizer offers a separate Metra Electric ticket in the registration packet or event app. Keep that travel ticket accessible alongside your show registration: it is the document the FAQ tells you to use on the train.
ProMat 2027 runs April 19–21. The official attendee FAQ, checked on October 17, 2026, Korea time, lists show hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on all three days. Preparing the registration, badge collection and station route together makes the first morning easier to plan.
Collect the badge before your first booth appointment
The FAQ lists three on-site pickup locations: South Meeting Room S102, the North Grand Concourse Lobby on Level 3 in front of the North Hall, and the Lakeside Level 2 Lobby. Use the pickup location that fits your arrival and first meeting, rather than treating McCormick Place as a single doorway.
Badge pickup starts at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 19, and at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. The listed desks close at 5 p.m. The earlier opening gives you time to collect a badge before the 9 a.m. show opening; walking and queues still belong in the arrival plan.
For example, if a supplier meeting begins when the floor opens, arrange to reach a badge desk first. If your train arrives at the venue at the meeting time, you still have the station exit, badge desk and hall walk ahead of you. Move the arrival time or the appointment, rather than counting the train’s arrival as arrival at the booth.
Hotel badge pickup is available at selected hotels
The organizer also lists pickup at four hotels: Chicago Marriott Magnificent Mile, Hilton Chicago, Hyatt Regency McCormick and Marriott Marquis McCormick. Each has listed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday windows. Sunday pickup can remove one step from the next morning, provided you reach the hotel desk during its actual hours.
The Sunday windows differ. On April 18, Chicago Marriott Magnificent Mile and Hilton Chicago are listed from noon to 5 p.m.; the Hyatt Regency McCormick and Marriott Marquis McCormick desks are listed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All four list 7 a.m.–4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
Check the exact hotel name in the badge-pickup section of the FAQ. A reservation at another property with the same hotel brand does not put you at one of these desks. If your arrival misses the hotel window, use the listed on-site location and hours for your show day.
The free train benefit is specifically for Metra Electric
The FAQ specifies the Metra Electric Line only, for travel between McCormick Place and downtown Chicago. It instructs visitors to use the Metra ticket in the registration packet or show the digital Metra ticket in the mobile app. The exhibition badge and the train ticket therefore have separate jobs.
Open the travel ticket before leaving the hotel, so you can find it when needed. When choosing a route, check the service name as well as the destination: the stated offer names Metra Electric, rather than every train or bus in Chicago. Price any other leg according to the service you actually use.
At McCormick Place, the FAQ places the station on Level 2.5, off the Grand Concourse of McCormick Place South. Save that location with the hall and booth number. It helps distinguish the train arrival point from the registration desks and the exhibition floor.
For a hypothetical downtown stay, plan the outbound trip in three parts: get from the hotel to your chosen station, take the eligible Metra Electric service, then walk from the venue station through the badge and hall route. Reverse those steps for the return. Consult the current timetable for the actual outbound and return departures you intend to take.
Use the free program to support the supplier visit
The free registration includes keynotes and show-floor educational sessions, so there is more to schedule than booth appointments. Choose the sessions around the questions that brought you to ProMat, leaving room to follow up with exhibitors.
If you are evaluating robots, bring questions about the customer task, human intervention and service support. Our review of commercial evidence at Automate develops those questions from a different event. For ProMat, match them to the current exhibitor and session listings, then keep your badge pickup and travel ticket ready for that day’s route.
