Humanoid Robots in Factories and Warehouses in 2026: Who Is Actually Deployed, Where, Doing What

In October 2026, sorted by status (every figure is the company’s own claim): operating, Agility Robotics’ Digit moves totes for GXO in Georgia (more than 100,000 totes by November 2025; robot count not disclosed), and UBTech says more than 500 Walker S robots were delivered and working at Chinese automakers and electronics makers (December 2025). Contracts, orders and announced deployments: Agility’s commercial agreement with Toyota’s Canadian plant, AgiBot’s order for 100 robots from Fulin Precision, and Figure 03’s logistics job at BMW, none with a disclosed number of robots at work. Pilots: Apptronik’s Apollo at Mercedes-Benz and GXO, and Xiaomi’s three-hour die-casting trial. Plans: Boston Dynamics’ Atlas is training at Hyundai ahead of factory use from 2028, and Tesla has started building Optimus without saying how many do factory work.

Work done (totes moved, trial success), robots working at a site, and robots built, delivered or ordered are different counts, so they sit in separate columns. “Not disclosed” means the company hasn’t said. Sources are linked in each section below.

Paid work: Agility and UBTech

Agility’s Digit passed 100,000 totes moved in live production at a GXO site in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where it shuttles totes between mobile robots and conveyors under a multi-year robots-as-a-service deal (Assembly, November 2025). In February 2026 Agility signed a commercial agreement with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada after a pilot. Our Agility guide covers how companies get a Digit.

UBTech said in December 2025 that its 1,000th Walker S came off the line and more than 500 were delivered and working, with customers including BYD, Geely, FAW-Volkswagen, Dongfeng Liuzhou, Foxconn and Midea (Interesting Engineering). In January 2026 it added Airbus as a customer. These are UBTech’s figures; see our UBTech guide.

Moving from pilot to job: Figure and AgiBot

Figure’s earlier robot, Figure 02, spent about ten months in BMW’s Spartanburg body shop inserting sheet-metal parts for welding. BMW said in mid-2026 that Figure 03 will now start logistics sequencing, picking parts from bins into trolleys (The Robot Report, June 2026). No unit count was given. Our Figure AI guide covers the company.

AgiBot announced an order for 100 wheeled A2-W humanoids from auto-parts maker Fulin Precision in August 2025 (Assembly). The research firm Omdia counted AgiBot as 2025’s biggest humanoid shipper at more than 5,100 units, ahead of Unitree and UBTech.

Still training or planned: Atlas, Apollo, Optimus

Boston Dynamics unveiled its production Atlas in January 2026 and says all 2026 units are committed to Hyundai and Google DeepMind. Hyundai opened a robot training center at its Georgia Metaplant in September 2026, where Atlas is learning logistics and parts sequencing; Hyundai’s plan, as reported, puts Atlas on the Metaplant floor from 2028. See our Atlas guide.

Apptronik signed Mercedes-Benz and GXO in 2024 and in June 2026 described Apollo 2 fleets collecting data at customer sites, with no unit counts; see our Apptronik guide. Tesla’s third-quarter 2026 update says Optimus production has begun on Fremont lines, but Tesla hasn’t said how many robots do useful factory work.

What these deployments have in common

The jobs that pay today are repetitive moves of totes and parts between machines, in areas built for people. That’s where a humanoid can replace a manual step without rebuilding the line. Tasks needing fine hand skill, such as handling flexible materials, remain hard; our analysis of why feeding towels into a folding machine is hard shows why.

When you read a deployment announcement, check three things: is it paid or a pilot, how many robots, and is anyone teleoperating them? For the makers and their prices, see humanoid robot companies and our humanoid robot price list.
