UBTech Robotics is a Chinese robot maker, founded in March 2012, that sells five kinds of robots: industrial humanoids (led by the Walker S2), a wheeled humanoid (Cruzr S2), service robots, education robots, and small consumer humanoids such as the Alpha Mini. Its humanoids aren’t sold through an online store; companies buy through UBTech’s sales contacts or regional distributors. As of July 2026, Walker S2 was in on-site trials at a Hitachi elevator plant in China and in ROSSMANN logistics centers in Germany.
UBTech has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange main board (9880.HK) since December 29, 2023, according to its company profile. This guide covers the products, not the stock.
The industrial humanoids: Walker S2 and earlier Walkers
Walker S2 is UBTech’s current factory humanoid. The Walker S2 product page lists these headline capabilities:
- Swaps its own battery in about 3 minutes, using a dual-battery design so it can keep working during the swap.
- Lifts a 15 kg payload, with a waist that rotates ±162° and pitches 125° to reach from floor level up to 1.8 m.
- Uses a pure RGB stereo camera pair in the head for depth, rather than a separate depth sensor.
For Walker S2’s price, specs and delivery numbers, see our Walker S2 price and specs guide.
Walker S1 and Walker S are the earlier industrial versions; they still have product pages, but S2 is the model UBTech is promoting for new deployments.
The service and research humanoids
- Walker C and Walker C1: service humanoids for public spaces such as exhibition halls and city service points. Our Walker C1 explainer covers how it differs from the industrial Walker S line.
- Walker X: an earlier full-size service humanoid. The Walker X page says it can carry 10 kg or walk carrying 3 kg in each hand, with 7-degree-of-freedom arms and force-controlled hands.
- Walker Tienkung: a full-size humanoid sold for university research, education and secondary development, with open interfaces. It’s listed under UBTech’s AI education products and sold by inquiry.
- U1 Pro: a full-size, human-looking humanoid that UBTech describes as an “ultra-bionic” robot. The product page gives little more than that.
Cruzr S2, the wheeled humanoid
Cruzr S2 puts a humanoid upper body on a wheeled base. The Cruzr S2 page says it can turn ±170° inside a 0.8 m passage, raise itself 0–40 cm, and handle 15 kg across a 0–1.8 m working height. It uses the same head stereo vision as Walker S2 and UBTech’s fourth-generation dexterous hands.
If your floor is flat and you don’t need stairs, a wheeled robot like this is usually simpler to run than a two-legged one. The trade-off is that it can’t step over obstacles.
Where Walker S2 is working
UBTech’s newsroom posted two deployment updates on July 13, 2026:
- Hitachi (China): under a strategic partnership, Hitachi has put Walker S2 into selected manufacturing sites, including on-site operational testing in a Hitachi Elevator workshop. UBTech describes this as a validation phase, not a full production rollout.
- ROSSMANN (Germany): Terra Robotics, now UBTech’s exclusive distributor for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, bought an initial batch of “several dozen” full-size humanoids. They’re being used for material handling and sorting in ROSSMANN logistics centers as part of a long-term pilot.
Both are company announcements. Neither partner has published productivity numbers. Earlier, in November 2025, UBTech said it had started mass delivery of Walker S2, with orders worth over 800 million yuan from customers including BYD, Geely, FAW-Volkswagen, Foxconn and SF Express (UBTech release).
Education, service and consumer robots
- Education: UGOT, uKit AI, uKit Explore and the Yanshee humanoid kit, sold to schools as part of UBTech’s AI education programs. Schools go through the AI education contact page.
- Commercial service: Cruzr 1S (a reception and guide robot) and Cadebot.
- Consumer: the Alpha Mini, a small humanoid with 14 servos, LCD eyes, 4G LTE and block-based coding, and the older Alpha 1E. UBTech also sells pet-style robots under a separate UBPet site.
- Elderly care and logistics: UBTech lists solutions for community, residential and home care, and for B2C logistics, without separate public product specs.
UBTech’s AI models
UBTech says on its company profile that it builds its own models for robot control: Thinker (a foundation model), Thinker-WM (a world model that predicts how objects and actions will play out) and Thinker-VLA (a vision-language-action model that turns camera input and instructions into motion). These run on its humanoids; UBTech hasn’t released them as a public API.
How to buy a UBTech robot
- Pick the line. Walker S2 or Cruzr S2 for factories and warehouses, Walker Tienkung for research labs, education kits for schools, Alpha Mini for personal use.
- Contact the right channel. Industrial and service humanoids go through the contact form on ubtrobot.com. In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Terra Robotics is the exclusive distributor.
- Expect a project, not a checkout. UBTech publishes no list prices for its humanoids. Industrial buyers typically start with a pilot at one site, as Hitachi and ROSSMANN did.
