FANUC CRX Cobots in 2026: Every Model’s Specs, the New R-50iA Versions, and What a CRX Costs

FANUC’s CRX line has eight cobot arms from 3 kg to 30 kg of payload, and in 2026 two of them gained versions on the newer R-50iA controller (the CRX/20-14A and CRX/30-18A). FANUC doesn’t publish prices, but online sellers do: Vention lists a CRX-10iA arm at $51,433.73, and a welding distributor lists a complete Lincoln Electric CRX welding cart at $97,298.56, both checked October 23, 2026.

The CRX-30iA page lists 1,889 mm in its spec table and 1,756 mm in its description; the R-50iA version and FANUC’s CRX site use 1,756 mm, so confirm with FANUC before laying out a cell at the edge of reach.

The arms weigh from 11 kg (CRX-3iA) to 135 kg (CRX-30iA). The /L and 30 kg arms are rated IP67. Food-grade versions exist for the 5, 10, 10/L, 20/L and 30 kg models, and the CRX-10iA/L Paint is, in FANUC’s words, the only cobot approved for painting under US safety standards.

What the CRX/20-14A and CRX/30-18A are

They share the specs of the CRX-20iA/L and CRX-30iA but run on the R-50iA controller, FANUC’s current generation, which adds stronger cybersecurity, Python scripts on the controller and high-speed data streaming. When FANUC announced the CRX-3iA in April 2026, it said the CRX line would be available on the R-50iA with Python scripting and ROS 2 streaming (Robotics 24/7). The new names appear to encode payload and reach (20 kg, 1.4 m; 30 kg, 1.8 m), though FANUC hasn’t explained them. If you plan to connect the cobot to ROS 2 or AI tools, ask for the R-50iA version.

Programming and features

FANUC’s CRX site lists a tablet teach pendant with drag-and-drop programming, hand guiding, and eight years of maintenance-free operation. Approved grippers and accessories install as plug-ins. The same announcement added triangle weave welding, a high-inertia mode for heavy or long tools, dual nut runners and positioner support. Experienced FANUC programmers can still use the TP language and the full controller options, which is the main reason plants with FANUC industrial robots pick CRX over other cobots.

What a FANUC CRX costs

FANUC sells through integrators and quotes each job, but these published prices give a reference point:

  • Arm (controller inclusion not stated): Vention’s store lists the CRX-10iA at $51,433.73. Vention’s own FANUC cost guide (October 2025) listed the CRX range from about $43,000 (CRX-5iA) to about $61,000 (CRX-30iA); its store price for the 10iA has since risen, so check the current listing.
  • Welding package: distributor Arc Solutions lists the Lincoln Electric Cooper CRX-10iA/L welding cart at $97,298.56, with the robot, tablet pendant, Power Wave R450 power source, wire feeder, torch, software, table and cart. Other brands’ packages are compared in our cobot welder comparison.

For FANUC’s larger industrial robots and used prices, see our FANUC robot price guide. On top of the arm, a working cell needs a gripper or tool, mounting, safety assessment, programming and training. Our cobot quote checklist shows what to compare between bids.

CRX against other cobots

CRX’s strengths are the payload range up to 30 kg (40 kg wrist-down for palletizing), the welding ecosystem, and sharing parts and training with FANUC industrial robots. For palletizing, see our cobot palletizer comparison; for the wider market, our cobot companies comparison; and for FANUC’s larger robots, the FANUC lineup guide. When you mount a tool, setting the TCP offset correctly is the first thing to check.
